Humidity skyrockets today, storms arrive tomorrow night

NOW: Humidity skyrockets today, storms arrive tomorrow night

The northern half of Michiana starts around the mid 60s early this morning while the southern half begins on a cooler than normal note near 60 degrees. Partly cloudy skies gradually clear throughout the day as high pressure shifts south, rocketing dewpoints across our area in the afternoon and evening today. Highs reach the low 90s but will feel like the triple digits as a result of the moisture surge. A heat advisory goes into effect for all counties this afternoon, not expiring until tomorrow evening. Thursday will likely feel even more tropical than today with highs closer to the mid 90s expected. Thursday night into Friday morning, a cold front is expected to drop in and bring temporary relief to us courtesy of a broad line of showers and thunderstorms. Scattered but non-severe storms are likely all of Friday and most of Saturday with heavy rain expected in brief spurts.

Today: Hot and humid. High 92.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Humid. Low 75.

Thursday: Partly cloudy. Hot and humid. High 96.

Friday: Scattered thunderstorms. High 85.
